I am painting the hubs on my WD45 the D17 cream color since as far as I can remember they've been that way and I like the "newer" style look of it and I was where I can get the paint? TSC doesn't seem to keep it in stock. I'd like to use the restoration series if possible.

Also what are your opinions on Mylar vs Vinyl Cut  decals other than price? The vinyl cut are more expensive but sound like they're easier to apply and are the same as original.

I have been using a Rustoleum almond paint on mine and liked the results.Usually can be found in Walmart or Ace Hardware.

Lonnie-This paint from Tractorpartsasap...is it a single part paint with no hardener?  How is coverage?  Would 1 gallon do a D19 tractor?

Thanks in advance,
Terry

I would avoid AGCO for paint if possible. The last spray can of PO #1 cost me $20. The quality is good, but not that good.

Chris, with paint you get what you pay for.  I used AGCO paint on my D17.  Pricey?  Yes.  But it is easy to work with and holds up very well.  Sure, you can buy a gallon of paint from TSC for $25, but your tractor will be pink in a few years.

Have you ever thought of using IH white? Its more of a cream color. It looks pretty close too.

I would also go with agco paint. I know some think it is to much. I think if you all putting all that time into it sray somthing that is going to last. BUT with that said I spent 300 bucks two years ago to sand blast my meryers snow plow. I bought ace primer and paint. I was wanting to get it done. I dont think it is dry yet NEVER AGIAN! Eric

Terry, I add hardener to the paint when I use it. I used about 2 1/2 quarts on my WF.

shame on you for mentioning 'the color' lol jk. dealers painted them cream for years to update their stock with the d series. davarn here in pewamo did that to several. some farmers would even have it done. they will be cream. alos, i found 'antique white' from tsc is almost an exact match.

It's his tractor to paint as he wishes.  I like the looks of a 45 painted  that way also.

I'd NEVER paint it green. BUT, it's his tractor !

With this paint from AllStates or Valubilt, does a guy need thinner?  Is it just some standard enamel thinner?

Thanks in advance,
Terry
