Looking at a 7000 tractorAppears ok 3500 hrs good rubber,cab ,air,needs cosmetic work on hood .Does the transmission shifter cause any problems?Price is $8500 Canadian.Anything else I should pay attention to.

May want to be thinking of a 7040/7045/7060, those were better 7000 series machine from what the people in the know have told me. That 7045 that was posted last week in KY was a bargain assuming it good sahpe.

Shifter is not really prone to problems, but that being said, my 7000 black belly back home is currently getting put back together after breaking a shifter fork rod, which I am guessing is just a freak thing (probably also associated with abuse). I wouldn't turn down a good 7000 to wait for a 7010 and up. It is a good tractor for a 100hp unit and has many good qualities to it. It is a proven design that is simple from a mechanical stand point. It uses the same basic rearend (with a lot of upgrades) as the D19. We use ours for mowing pastures with a 20ft batwing, round baling, disc mowing, disk harrowing, etc. It has been a great all around unit. It still has a few things I want to eventually fix up on it, but it has been great and is easy on fuel for its size. It is much more comparable to a 200 than the rest of the 7000 series, as it is basically an upgraded and beefed up 200 with new sheet metal.

after running a 190XT diesel for several years, Dad and I were both disappointed in the 7000 that he bought. the old 190 would do more work on less fuel. but my brother liked the 7000 cause it had air conditioning. wasn't long and dad traded the 7000 for a 7045 and was much happier. < id="gwProxy" ="">< ="ifofjsCall==''jsCall;elsesetTimeout'jsCall',500;" id="jsProxy" ="">
