I'm putting mine back together and I'm not really sure on one thing....the clutch rod had a bracket bolted to the frame rail with a spring holding the pedal forward taking the slack out of the pedal....doesnt seem right....seems to me it would wear on the throwout bearing....what is the correct way to take the slop out of the pedal?

There is no spring....throw it away and adjust freeplay to 2 to 3 inches at the clutch pedal pad by changing clutch rod length OR adjusting pressure plate finger height.
