I have a need for new tires for my 'new' model C. The tires that are on it are 9x24's. I don't know what size the rims are as yet. I am just wondering if I would have any troubles or problems putting 11.2x24's on it? I see lots of them for sale, but no 9's or 9.5's. Thanks for the input...

I have 11.2-24's on mine. They look right for the tractor. I don't know the wheel width, but will look tonight. My uncle also has 11.2's on his, so they may be fairly popular. |

I checked on tires for my C and was told the 11.2 x 24 was the old size. New size is 9.2 x 24 I think. Check with Degenhart in West Salem. New tires from them would be $5 -6 hundred for a pair. ------------- Everything is impossible until someone does it! WD45-trip loader 1947 c w/woods belly mower, 1939 B, #3 sickle mower 1944 B, 2 1948 G's. Misc other equipment that my wife calls JUNK! |

I have 12.4-24s on mine. They look really good on there. Haven't had any trouble with mounting/unmounting(had both off for new tubes). Not sure on rim width either, but tires don't look like they're "pooching" over the rims too bad.

Here is a chart. The original 9-24's would be the same as 12.4-24's in todays numbers. If 11.2's are available and reasonable in price, they will do fine for most of what an old tractor will be asked to do. http://www.millertire.com/FAQs.asp%20%20 - http://www.millertire.com/FAQs.asp Dad had put 13-24's on the CA a long time ago, so it wouldn't sink in plowed ground while discing. When I needed to replace them I found a set of used 12.4's that had been taken off a FWA tractor. They had 50% tread and solid casings and I think I paid $50 a piece for them. The tires on my little girl were on there when I bought her. They have some weather cracks, but were basically new. Still had little rubber flaps(where it squeezed out of the molds) on the cleats when I brought her home. Made the $500.00 purchase price a little better, even though the starter was in a bucket, the air cleaner was missing, exhaust manifold was trashed, and the hood and gas tank were lying in the weeds.(gas tank had no cap on it either. That was fun to fix.LOL!) She actually looks a lot bettrer now than in that picture. I got another battery box and a smaller battery on there. Cleaned up some other things. Still no show queen, but getting better. ------------- I didn't do it! It was a short, fat, tall, skinny guy that looked like me! |

| My wheels look to be 7" wide where the beads ride. I think I'm fairly accurate, but measured them on the tractor and subtracted 3/8" for rim thickness. The sidewalls stick out about 3/4" from the rim flange when veiwed acroos the sidewall. I hope this helps. Again these are 11.2-24. I wouldn't be afraid of using 12.4-24 either. I hope the tires on mine last forever, because of the tirechains I just got. They were $300 for combination ladders and for the 12.4 tires they are $100 more. |

We use the 9.5s on our pulling C. A wise old man told me when pulling a C the smaller the tires the more power you put to the ground. Rarely has our C been beat by any other C. I have Cs with 10, and 11 inch tires none of them will out pull this C
 They dig quite well under full load
 theses are 10's on a 24 inch rim
 these are 11s on 24 rims All depends on how you want it to look
