Anyone have price on part # 74024561. Local dealer acts like he don't want to be bothered for prices.

I am going to replace the front crankshaft seal in my 6060. | Eddie,if it's made like the one on my 8070,it has a inner piece that slips on the crank and that turns inside the outer housing.Care must be taken during install to not damage the seal as in pushing only on the outer dia so you don't distort the inner workings.And last but very important...lube the seal lip before installing.The shop put the first one in at O/H and it threw oil everywhere.I then replaced it but was thinking it was like class 8 truck axle seals which have enclosed lube in seal.....not so,so the next one got lip lubed and has been fine.I used redi-rod & nut,a plate and a 3in piece of pipe which fit the outer dia to draw it in place.Used 4 #8 sheet metal screws to pry/pull old ones out. |
