Hi all, I live in La Crosse, WI and traveled up to Hayward, WI today and picked up my newest worker.  It is a 1942 Model C that came with a woods L306 belly mower.  I am happier that a lark!!  The wonderful wife didn't even hesitate when she said "Sure you can buy it."  So here is number 2 of a new disease.  Needs some work as there are parts missing and the alternator isn't even hooked up.  The wiring is all cannibalized and I have to figure that out. The air cleaner was off, so I assume the carb needs work. It has two different tires on the rear, a turf tire and a regular tractor tire. They are both pretty well shot. No headlights or tail light. A pan seat (which I might keep on it), but it purrs pretty good.  IF spring ever gets here, I will dump all the fluids and start over. The woods mower needs lots of work. There are parts missing and needs a new belt. Well, enough rambling, so here are a couple of pics (It was FREEZING out today)  More pics as I go along this summer.  Ted

Nice buy! I've got a complete L306 setup for a C that's sitting behind the shed, along with a C rear end and torque tube because I couldn't pass up the opportunity. When I finish my B I'll try to accumulate a few more parts and make a whole B/C tractor out of what I've got. I can't wait to mow with it and I bet you're looking forward to it too!

I'm not sure if spring is ever going to get here either...

And so the fever has started, Orange fever that is. That outfit will mow circles around any "lawn mower" out there these days. I wouldn't include a commercial zero turn in that field. Careful with that hydraulic lift on the C. I have seen them come up and stick to the battery cable on the starter. Not a good thing to have happen.

You know, that is not too bad a looking C.  Great hunting.  I think you will find it an excellent mowing tractor.  If you are going to use it on your lawn you may want the turf tires and a ribbed front tire set up.  Otherwise it can chew up a lawn.
Easy tractor to work on.  Yes, drain the fluids and go from there.
Let us know how it goes.
Good Luck!

Nice looking tractor.  If the ar cleaner is not hooked up, it could be plugged.  I'd chekc that before the carb.  Good luck!

Yup that's how it starts. A wd-45 then a C. My parts for my C are starting to arrive. So it begins again.

She says "sure you can buy it " now --- there will be payback on down the road sometime --- LOL. That's part of the fun.
