1947 A/C C. Can someone, please tell me the starting points on the main & low jets for a Zenith carb. number. 9705? The timing is on, good gas, cleaned the carb., volts good from the key out, but it will run okay for 2-5 min. then shut down and restart right backup but only run 2-5 mins. I can't keep it running!!!

Check vent in gas cap first,gas flow to float bowl....then float and needle. Then air filter system from cap on hood all the way to to choke . I have seen a bum coil do this too .

Hello Ksulkey!! open the drain under the carb, let it run for 10 seconds it should have full flow. If not get a coffee type can, 3/8" pipe plug, a piece of fine woven wire, roll it to look like a cigarette, remove the sediment bowl assy, with can in place, install the pipe plug in tank, this should be done with fuel in tank which should clean crud from around opening, clean the sediment assy, install the screen in the inlet, bend the top to close reinstall. I would recommend doing this with caution, the gas can be poured back into tank, except for crud, Good luck Please re post your findings.
