My d17 has an oil leak on the underside, up by the pulley that runs the fan.  I'm not a mechanic and am guessing this is a bad seal.  What all is involved in replacing the seal, if that is the problem.  Thanks for any advice or tips.  Hans

Start with your oil pan gasket.  It's best to pull out the front axle out from under it.  With all of that black stuff under there, you might find more gaskets that need replacing.

You have to pull the front end to remove the crank pulley. The crank gets grooved were the front seal goes so you might want to invest in a speedi sleeve.

I start with a good cleaning as it's hard to tell right now.
