Do the hugger head units take more power to run than the old A series like the A630 or A330. Have a 4row hugger that the barn got when it fell. like to build a 3row 30 to fit my K2

Big210  I have oftened wondered the same.  I would think that IG or DrAllis would know for sure.  Im inclined to think no, but have never had an experience with the newer hugger units.  I always figured that the newer hugger row units were nearly the same build as the older A series heads except for a lower position?  Perhaps they only got a lower profile mounting design matched up to a similar frame?  At any rate, I would be interested in seeing your project as it develops.  I have a K2 equipped with an A330.  With its ear savers removed, it does a great job of getting under downed corn.  I think some poly snouts & a corn real would make it unstoppable.  The stalks piling up on the cross auger can be a problem.
