Seen something odd the other day on an all-crop 90. Kinda hard to explain, but some of these 90's had the "hump back" on the part of the seperator directly behind the cylinder.
At this area is also a step out on the seperator back wall. With the use of some tines in the seperator, the straw and grain was thrown against these tines but the grain would pass thru the tines into the step out chamber. This grain would fall down the chamber directly on to the grain drag floor to be taken directly to the cleaning shoe.
Well on this machine the step out chamber was blocked off by sheet metal, making it useless. The sheet metal looks factory as there is still some paint on it...

| Just a guess but may have been something they did to add capacity for a corn head and left the block off plate in unless you did have the corn head attached. |

Maybe thats it. Will have to look into the operators manual on the next bunch I buy.

The deflector and comb
The straw and threshed seed leave the cylinder and contact the combs where some some seed is permitted to go through and fall into the grain discharge and onto the grain drag and straw onto the straw rack.
When threshing clover and other small seeds the grain discharge cover should be installed.
The grain discharge cover should also be installed when threshing dry chaffy, brittle straw which would go through the combs, fall into the grain discharge and overload the cleaning shoe.

On the one I looked at, the rounded metal shown here isnt there...that looks odd..seems to me that would block the grain from emptying out of that step back and cause it to pile up behind it, or am I interpreting the picture wrong?

Ok...but anyway, that step back area behind that round piece is blocked off by a piece of sheet metal, I guess for certain seeds/straw conditions per the operators manual mentioned here.... ------------- If its not an All-Crop, it all crap! |

| matt...appreciate your reply but joe graunke out of wisconsin got together with mr.staudt and brought it.that is the only 90 i can remember we started out with a 60 in 48-49 and ended up with a 72 before going self propelled.matt do you go to the fredricksburg show in june?its an 8 hr. pull for me,but my daughter and her husband live in boerne,so free lodging.its a 3 day event lots of old old engines there... |

Parts book lists this as a discharge door after serial #601 & up. before that it shows just a flat back an the model 90 all crop. thanks.
