Will an 80R sickle mower cut grass nicely? Rather than a belly mower, which I can't find for a WD45, can I use one of these? Has anyone tried this?

The sickle mower cuts grass nicely. It's purpose is to cut longer grass for making hay. It won't replace a lawnmower as it does not "chop up and throw out" the cut grass. I have used mine to cut long grass and weeds where it is not important to remove the cuttings

If you want to maintain an area with a sickle mower, clip it at regular intervals so it doesn't get too tall. Keeping the sickle up off the ground a couple inches will help keep previous clippings from plugging the mower. The sickle mower will be faster and you will use less fuel, but it won't look like a lawn mower job.
