This should be taped up in every classroom. Oh…. that’s right they don’t say the pledge of allegiance in Illinois schools anymore.

My Granddaughter learned to stand and hold her right hand on her heart while saying the Pledge of Allegiance. They also say "one nation under God". I do believe her preschool is probably in the minority in that respect.

That's great Charley, Thanks her teacher and the school for me.
This is what more schools need to get back to doing!

Half the people in my high school didn't say the pledge as of my senior year. I doubt it got any better. It's always interesting to walk around campus in uniform and hear what everybody has to say to me. One of the ladies in the dining hall asked if she should salute me. Nice thought but no.... lol

My wife teaches high school math in northern Il, and she rides herd on any student who does'nt cooperate fully on the pledge of allegiance. Its usually someone who has only been in this country a few years. They get a real earful from her. 3 out of 4 of our parents were overseas in ww2. Mom was an army nurse and both dads were there also, in fact my dad came in with a broken arm and mom was the nurse and 6 weeks later were married in france

As I get ready for work each morning I have the radio on and this one station gives the pledge and then plays the national anthem each morning.  One of the reasons I keep it on that station.  Nice.  This is a top 40 rock station also.

When I was president of the school board we started every meeting with the pledge of allegiance. And we cannot thank the men and women past and present enough for their service to our country!

We always start everyone of our Boy Scout meetings with the pledge.  My 4 year old granddaughter is in preschool and already has the pledge memorized, I was amazed how fast she learned and is always ready to recite it to anyone who will listen.

The Jasper County Retired Iron Club at Rensselaer, Indiana monthly meeting is started with the Pledge every time. Hats OFF, hands over heart, position of attention without fail! Most of us old farts are prior service, and that DOES mean something. Our example to our younger members means something also! Lead by example, and the youth will learn and respect, or NOT!!!!,your choice!   Dipstick

That nonremoval of the hat in building & church bother me the most. I can still remember being smack for walking into a building and not removing my hat in instant you was threw the door. It really bothers me when people do not put their hand over their heart.
