I am going to replace the front cover on my 190 it currently has a gleaner combine engine in it , I need to take off cover and replace with one from a tractor engine that has governor,(combine engine doesnt have governor) , if you or anyone has done this process or knows how to do this ,like the timing marks on all gears and such, please let me know any info will be much appreciated.

If it is a 301 gas combine engine the gov. is in  it just like the tractor. The carb. is different.    MACK

it has a 2800 gas I believe the original was a 2500 gas? any wat the front cover had been taken off at one time , the silicone used to seal cover tells that , but what combine, or other implement would have this engine been taken out of , anybody? also my allis is a straight 190 not xt. I am planning on switching front cover from an extra 2800 that i have.

Maybe next time I should buy a tractor that doesnt require any repair or fine tuning , but that would take all the fun out of it, thats just me.

Well, I'm confused as to what you are actually trying to do. If you are switching front covers between two similar engines (they have to be a tractor engine covers to have a hydraulic pump drive) you need a really good three bolt puller to remove the crank pulley and just unbolt the cover after removing the governor assembly out thru the hole. You don't mess with any timing.....remove one cover and replace with another. To replace the front seal you need a pipe driver/installer. If you are trying to make a combine engine fit in a tractor, then you have a lot more work to do as the front cover PLATE has to be removed from the front of the block which requires camshaft removal and oil pan removal and oil pump removal. The governor arm is different between tractor and combine as are the governor weights (combine gov weights are heavier) but all parts will interchange. The 2500 gas engine (265)was only in a 180-190 and never in a combine. The 2800 gas (301)was in a Gleaner G and 190XT tractor.
