Was anybody here at that sale? I left after the combine sold and was curious what the 7080 brought. The combine went past my budget !

1984 N6 --real straight and ran smooth -- $14000 no heads

I think the 7080 brought between $6500 and $7000. I just got home from bringing the monoframe plow back I bought. Nothing like a hour and a half ride down in the 8010 at first light to bore you to death. You don't know if any body that bought one of the combine heads would part with one of those header wagons. I should have been bidding on them rather than talking, could use one.

That U sure sounded nice when it ran.

There was supposed to be a slipping clutch in the 7080 and some work was needed on the engine, other than the exhaust manifold I was told. Notice how the manifold was also broke on the N6? It ran nice though. Started right up too.

I didnt even watch the headers sell! What did the flex head bring? I guess I never looked at the manifiold on the N6. I was supprised it started with out being plugged in.

Early 20' @1000 or 1100$ (had hooks on the lower throat), 320 @1400$ (for the N), early 638 corn head @1100$, 638 for the N @2700$. All included the transport wagons. All in fair shape, flexes had short dividers and wood bat pickup reels with metal spring fingers. U-M sn12217 (?, hard to see,harder to read) dual fuel manifold (needed some crack repair), dual rear tires, good straight tractor, started and ran well @2450$. B sn 123645, ran well @1300. 7080, looked good, good rear radials @5900. 32" wood Advance Rumely Ideal thresher in decent shape at 1950$. AC forage chopper with windrow pickup @ 200$. AC silage blower (pipes in barn would need to be bought separately) @ 300$. I think these prices are correct, or at least close. The N and one corn head had been used this past fall. A lot of the equipment was in the weeds or had just been dragged out of the weeds or storage sheds.

How many furrows on the monoframe. Was it hyd reset. If you don't mind me asking-what did you have to pay for it?

6 16" solid frame (no add on furrows), mechanical reset on furrows. I have a 5 plus one already that is in decent shape. I never dug the snow out from the moldboards as I thought it would go for more money than I paid and I paid about the right price as 4 moldboards are shot and it needs a few coulters and a coupe shins a couple landsides. The worst part was the steering spindle was frozen, not seized and I had a hard time getting it freed up after moving it out of where it was as it was so slippery from everyone walking on the snow. Paid $550. Wheel bearings on furrow wheel were gone, changed them with the depth wheel and packed them there to get it home. Bought $800 for parts and I thought I would have enough to make one almsot new plow of the two....

Where was the auction? I can only think of Barnes, are they out of business?

I am going to say JD Smith farms? Was on Colbourne st. pretty much in town, right across from an industrial area.
