After seeing Gary's great looking 38 B I have a question. What is the hole in the right front of the toolbox for? If they hadn't made a B with electric start, you wouldn't need a place to run the battery cable out to the starter. I never noticed if my 38 has that hole. I've got a '39, and that hole lines up perfectly with an adjustment screw in the steering gearbox. Agree with above; I think that's what it's for. ------------- 1939 B, 1940 B, 1941 WC, 1951 WD, 1952 CA, 1956 WD-45 |

Charlie, Don't be in a rush to adjust the B steering gear. Getting those three eccentric bolts in place gave me a pain.

THE HOLE IS FOR STEERING BOX ADJUSTMENT, AND BILL YOU ARE RIGHT IT IS A PAIN TO GET IT ALL SET BACK RIGHT, BUT IT IS WORTH IT TO NOT HAVE A LOT OF SLACK IN STEERING WHEEL. (--NOT A HOLE FOR THE STARTER WIRE--) |
