Hi, wondering if anyone has tried to drill a hole in a drawbar before. I have one off of a 200 that I'm thinking about using for a different application that would require drilling another 1" hole in it. Thank you, Jim

My local machine shop has done it.  Just have to have a high-quality sharp bit, good cutting fluid and patience.

Drilling a drawbar is not difficult. First drill a 1-4"-3/8" pilot hole. Then drill it to 1", turning the bit very slowly, 120 RPM or less. Keep the bit cool and wet with some cutting fluid or plain old engine oil. If you run into a hardened drawbar, which the 200 is not, start the pilot hole by cutting into the drawbar .030" or so with a carbide burr in a die grinder. If the drawbar is hardened, it will not be hardened very deeply.
