My B has the sloppest King Pin is the world - I mean 2"+ with the front wheels off the ground - how does one get the axle housing bored round to put a new bushing in?  Then what about the vertical shaft, what do you do there?

I built the built the vertical shaft up with a wire welder then chucked in the lathe and turned back round.
The housing could be mounted in a vertical mill and bored with boring bar.  Haven't done that but I think would work.  Tim

PS.....of course new bushings would have to be made to fit the larger OD.

It might be cheaper, easier and faster to just find a new (used) front axle ...........

Thought of that but who knows what I buy is any better?

Bushings are generally bronze, correct?

 Thanks for the input

Try before you buy......

With that much slop, it seems like anything would be better than what you got....

More than likely it might not be a bad investment since this tractor has a loader - ya bad nwes for this light assembly

If you can't find a decent replacement locally, you can weld and turn the vert shaft. Instead of boring the housing, you can clean the bore up and add an epoxy filler. If done right you wouldn't know it from new. A silicone release agent on the outside of the new bushings with a straight shaft through the bushings to line them up. Pour epoxy in and let it set up overnight. I used this stuff to fix a whallowed out flywheel on a 2,500 to forge press so I know it will hold your bushings in place.
