Which way was it intended to be oriented? Even in Swinford's book I see the cutout in different places. I have 5 and they are all different. Since the stearing is so quick, I like the position where I can grab a horizontal spoke on the LH side...and steer with my left hand....

Thanks...some look like they are set for "knee" clearance...and my one G needs that as someone put 3" spacers under the seat so that the battery could sit under it.....

This guy looks like he is wasting his time, that lettuce doesn't look like it needs cultivatin LOL!

This is a little off the original post, but some might find it useful. The steering tube on the G I'm restoring is bent and dented. A replacement is available for about $65.00 from a supplier of parts. I bought a 10' piece of 1 1/4" thin wall steel conduit at a local elect. supply house for $12.00. The OD is 1 1/2 " with a wall thickness of 1/16", same as the original. I can make two, so I'll have one for the B I'll be doing next. Bob@allisdowneast

I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not sure.

Bob, I did the same for my CA. The biggest problem was the paint doesn't stick to galvanized steel well.

Eldon,  We were told at the introductory showing of the G that the steering wheel was placed in the position shown in the cultivation picture.  The G was basically a close cultivation tractor and nothing was to detract from the operator's view even the steering wheel.
Hope this is some help.
Good Luck!

Wash galvanized steel with vinegar before painting, the paint will stick much better. Or just brush the vinegar on and rinse off.

Bill, I have heard the same (as you stated) from a couple other retired dealers.  Herb
