You should have been there later to see the crawler pointing south and the 175 with an Allis Engine on the loader facing north coming out of the shed backwards. It was quite a sight but it worked to get the engine loaded and on its way to the East Coast.

Great Picture. I know some JD guys that will say the chain is welded and being used as a push bar. LOL    So is it a chain? I can't tell from the picture.

Speaking of JD guys.  When we were at the Gathering of the Orange at Hutch several years ago, there were some guys walking around with JD hats on.  My brother Ron was at one of the flea market wagons and yells over  to me loud enough for the JD guys to hear that "there's some JD starters on the wagon"  Then he follows up with the fact that "and they have hooks on both ends".  Needless to say, the JD guys got a pretty sour look on their faces at that moment.  Denm

What Denny forgot to add was when he got home and told the local retired JD dealer that joke he pouted for 10 minutes. Then he pirked up and said" I could say that about Allis Chalmers"  DA !! Quick comebackLOL

The same JD guy always has better crop results than anyone. At least anyone who told the story before him. You know the kind. Well one fall a few years back, we had to pick our corn in January as the fields were too wet in the fall. The same year in the fall I was picking corn again and had to stop to call den. I informed him that we were getting 200 bushels per acre off the field that year. A course Den told me that was impossible. But it was actually correct  when you have 100 in January and 100 in October. A course The JD guy wasn't too happy when Den got him with that one after he boosted of 140+ corn.
