Got that home yet Ben? the front end appears to be adjustable but is narrower than normal, Yes a photo of the rear would be nice to see how the rear fender mounts are.

Are those special front wheels or does it have both inner and outer front wheel weights?

In Search Of: 1958 Allis Chalmers D17 Diesel serial #9643D

Ben, As you know I have a lowered D-17 diesel with factory low exhaust. I am restoring it with grove fenders.  I showed pictures to Norm Swinford a few years ago. His comment was that it did not leave the factory the was it was now. He said that A-C had large dealers in California usually with good machine shops of their own. The dealers would customize new tractors to suit the customers needs. My D-17 came from California and your D-15 may have through the same process.

Looks very uncomfortable to use, the right side fender is in so far the brake pedals look hard to reach.

I would be very interested in seeing if it has I40/I400 rear axles.  They were narrower than D14/D15 and had the 8 bolt hubs to accept the D15 wheel centers.

The front end is probably factory as they offered a "narrow" wide front according to the operators/parts manual.  I have this SII with the narrow front, but the rears were 28" with 2" spacers...go figure.
