I'm wondering if an oil pump gasket comes with an overhaul set? I took the plate off and cleaned the oil pump and I want the right thickness gasket. I have to buy a complete gasket set anyway. Also will it have manifold gaskets?

Be carefull when replacing that gasket as the one in the kits is often waaaay to thick leaving you to wonder why you have little oil pressure. Actualy if the pump is worn at all the best thing is to eliminate the gasket. Stone the surfaces flat. Bolt it together to make sure it doesnt bind then take it apart and use just a very small amount of silicone sealer under the cover. Yes the manifold gaskets will be in a complete OH kit.

I put the plate back on after cleaning snugged the screws and it turns hard like it's dragging. Should I make one out of paper of some sort?

Realy? I have never run into one that unworn, well in the last 30 years anyway, LOL. First make sure you didn't flip the idler gear over, needs to go back the same way it came out and ck again. That not being the case it used to be available from AGCO as a seperate item. Ck there first. The paper should be so thin it is both delicate and translucent. The paper is available as sheet but making one wouldnt be fun times.

Thanks for the help Butch. I'll check with agco on the gasket. I'll also remove the idler and put the cap back on and see what happens. The idler just wanted to go on one way when I put it back together.
