2 yrs. ago did some head work and water pump on buddys wd45, noticed the automotive supression wires and told him we should replace those with real wires from agco. Well you know how it goes when you're busy, so now its missing bad while plowing snow and real hard starting. Good old fashioned tune-up and she snorts better than it ever has for him. Delco -remy cap was in good shape except for green in 2 terminals, we cleaned it up real good. Can you still find a delco cap if needed for future reference ? Also used autolite plugs and the official plug wire set from agco was around 25 bucks. Bought them from kevin , a great guy at Illini construction who advertises on this page. He is 5 minutes from the allis warehouse in batavia Ill. and is there picking up several times a week. Called him at 9 am picked up the wires at 1030. Sorry for long post just excited to get good results and got a kick that the part # was the same as when I worked for a dealer in the 70s.

Good to hear of another tractor back working properly again. I never heard of a problem using automotive type suppression wires on a distributor ignition. I bought solid core wires for my WC at Farm and Fleet for $10 a set.

I've heard that suppression wires should be used if you put an electronic conversion kit in the distributor, cuts down on EMI (?) which supposedly interferes with the current to the plug and causes poor firing.
