Next , if you do not have a set of Pack Boots , get then and your feet will thank you. Something on the hands, on the feet, and on the head and can stay war as toast. Dress in couple layers, use a vest type coat liner to keep core warmer, keep the back and kidney area covered and you have winter almost licked. EXCEPT I still hate the cold.

Wife bought me a pair last week after I read about them on here. I wore them yesterday and my fingers never felt so toasty.

You know, I'm good all over. feet are warm and toasty with my Columbia snow boots, got my lined bibb Carhardt overalls with hooded jacket, full face thinsulate head/face cover. Now, if tasks weren't so danged hard to do with all this stuff on (like walking, or simply climbing onto the WD), outdoor chores wouldn't be so bad, HUH???

You get multiple workouts getting all bundled up and trying to do chores wearing that many clothes.

Friend of mine's brother is a trapper in northern Ontario. Said his brother uses beaver hat and mitts. Asked if he would make me a pair of mitts and a hat (front and side flaps). Can't believe how warm they are. In a windy 25 below I am toastie warm (at least my hands and head). Now I know how beavers can do what they do. Wife says I can't be seen in public wearing them-but they're great on the farm.

One good source is LL Bean http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/60315?feat=sr&freeText=choppers - http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/60315?feat=sr&freeText=choppers
Fleet Farm or farm and fleet type stores in the snow belt should also have them.

Mark, you nailed it! Got mine from LL Bean, bit the bullet and paid $56 (includes shipping). I ordered them on a Sat. and they arrived Thurs. The leather shells are very soft though, I already got a small surface cut in them by simply adjusting the leveling on my Rhino bladek! Of course if ya spend $75 you get free shipping! For me, I didn't care how much they cost when it prevents PAIN in my fingers!

Well, they're your hands. It's important to get a pair that has a separate liner rather than the choppers that are just lined on the inside. Here's a cheaper source I found by doing a search http://thefoursome.com/Chopper-Mittens-with-Wool-Liner/M/B001KWYG8O.htm - http://thefoursome.com/Chopper-Mittens-with-Wool-Liner/M/B001KWYG8O.htm but it's hard to beat LL Bean's quality.

KC, contact LL Bean. They are VERY good at customer service They may take care of your cut mitt. I've heard such stories from the locals when I'm in that area on business trips.

It's been awhile since I've read the other post, but are you using the military ones or another type? and if you're using the military ones, trigger finger or not? I have a couple sets of the military ones and with all of the wood I've hauled and everything else I've did, I've never had a problem with the leather.
