I found an IB in a local salvage yard that can be bought. Any thoughts on what should be invested? Most of the main parts are there--engine, trans, both final drives, frame for attachments, front axles--will have to have hood, grill, radiator, fender, 4 rims one rear wheel center weight misc small parts like mag/dist. starter etc. This is just from visual inspection I know that there is a lot of work to do if it can be saved. Question is what is it worth to be able to make it worthwhile. Any comments welcome. STAN

Most of the needed parts are readily available on the thousands of B's available. Buy a good B, the junker IB, and you'll have an IB in no time.

Once you know what a reproduction frame costs, you will snatch that one up and rebuild it. Don't wait too long.

Are you referring to the channel frame that wraps around the tractor for mounting attachments? BTW what does one cost? TKS Stan

Norm Swinfords book lists IB serial numbers before 1946 having B ser. numbers. After that year, does the numbers prefix with IB? and are any numbers more significant than others? Also the total production for IB model is 2850. Any guess as how many may have survived? Thanks, Stan

Yes the prefix will be IB as of 1946, as with any a very low serial # might be more interesting but probably not of more value than another.
