1 wire alternator on wd45. when tractor is running, the voltage gage reads 14.5v. Why then when I check voltage with me tester anywhere in the circuit, the tester won't show a constant voltage. Different voltage readings flash so quickly, you can't tell what the reading is. Your help is appreciated.

I would say you are not getting a good ground with tester or tester needs to go into the trash can.    MACK

Do you now anybody with an analog tester? Might try one of the old fashioned ones.

I contacted a guy that sells have the 12v conversion items and he told me the same thing. Digital dosen't work on old tractors with copper wire, points etc. Says there is frequencies
that interfere with the digital type.
