This is the unstyled WC I brought home this fall as a parts tractor that was going to China if it didn't find a new home.   It has the WD45 block in it and a starter bellhousing and generator.

Got the sediment bowl and a new fuel line run to a Marvel Schebler carb that I cleaned and put on.   Went out later today and put some gas in the tank, no leaks on the fuel line.   Cranked it over by hand to verify that I had spark plug wires in the right spot and gave her a whirl and she fired right up.   Good oil pressure, no major leaks, other then one coolant hose clamp that had rotted off from it sitting.   Lots of sparks out the straight pipe on it for awhile but she's a runner.   This thing has sat for a long time so I'm suprised that she took right off.   Wonder why she was parked and parts robbed from it but who knows.   I have to take the manifold off and put a new set of gaskets on it as one is completely gone.   Hopefully the head isn't all pitted and has to be machined true.   But if that happens, I guess I can find out what pistons it has in it and what the stroke truely is.  Pretty sure from the wiretest that it's just a WC/WC crank.

Well, before I tear the manifold off tomorrow, I might take her for a spin around the yard and see how the tranny etc. is on it and find out if there are any other problems.   I hope I can use it as a Packer victory lap but we'll have to see.   Still don't know what I'm going to do with this girl, just restore it, or make a puller out of it, but either way, I have another running tractor.   So now all of them run, I just got to get the D19's clutch fixed and then they'll all be moving!!

Congrats Chuck!  For me, there is nothing like the sound and surprise when they come to life after a long break.  Have fun, (based on the straps-it looks like you already are)

I found another set of rims and tires for the rear of this baby.   They're dished rims so they're not "correct" but for now they at least have me rolling so I can get the rest of the bugs worked out.   I will have to clean up the garage tomorrow afternoon and take her for her maiden voyage.

Good job. I was so happy when mine started after 30 years but now I've got it so far apart it will probably be 30 more years before I hear it run again.

If you are familiar with WD's and 45's you should be able to tell if it's got a 45 crank just by that extra snap that only a 45 engine has. Unless it's a little sick that is. I bought a WD with a knock once from a guy and when I got on her from the start I knew it had a 45 crank in it. It had that crack and feel like it was ready to take on the world even with a knock. Something that an A JD to a 60 or an M to a Super M just can't achieve.

That is a really good sound when they do fire back up. Mine had sat for about 2 years and in about 20 minutes she was running like a new one.
