Is that a WD tranny? Some say they can hold more torque than a WD-45 tranny?

I think it is a bent WD shifter or a custom job, a 45 is tapered with a ball on the end

I don' think WD and WD-45 shifters are interchangable....but I could be wrong
In the other hand, replacement shifters for the -45 are not taperd, and do not have a ball end, just truncated like the one in pic, at least not the ones I got from Sandy Lake

So the 57 had a WD tranny in it cause you can't mix em.

Lou that would be either a 230 or 262 gas engine.Likely a D19 engine(262).Either one needs the D19 governor if out of combine.

stick a 45D rear plate and flywheel/clutch assm on back and yer good to go.

That shift lever doesn't look like ether a WD or A 45. It's too big in diameter. Maybe someone made it.

I have a couple of AC replacement shifters that I bought from Sandy Lake that are that thick, the original were not that thick, but the replacements apparently were, and just cut off at the end, no ball

In regards to the tranny shifter the tractor came with this larger diameter shifter lever and yes it is a 45 tranny. It wasn't made up looks to be original. I know another guy how has a WD-45 with this kind of lever and tower that came with his 45. This tractor did very little work ! have the history on it. Engine was distroyed because of a lack of antifreeze. The tractor never got repaired and sat up in a barn for years/years lift arms and drawbar have almost zero wear. I believe its the original shifter. The engine is a fresh rebuilt 262 combine engine with D-19 govenor on it. Linkage to control the govenor is from 45D. It sound really nice at 2500-2800 RPM. Allis Should have had this originally in a gasser. Looking for a nice 4 furrow semi mount plow for it.

If it came with the 6 cyl. in it it must have been a Diesel to start with or a picker tractor.

This is a 262 combine engine. Removed the combine govenor and installed a D-19 govenor work excellent.

262 out of a combine is this the only choice,or is there others?? Was thinking on doing a diesel but not now, that I seen a gasser.Converting a gas to diesel would involve a little more work Imo.
