Hi all! I recently bought a WD with a belly mower and would like to modify the seat on it so that my 6 year old son could ride safely. I remember seeing on the forum someone who added another seat mount off of the brake cover and made a wide seat going all the way across. Anyone have pics of this or know who it was that posted it? Thank you in advance!

Here is a pic of my buddy seat on the WC, seems like I remember a bench type seat on one but don't remember who did it.

in most cases, the passenger does not have the steering wheel to hold on to. A hand rail in front of the passenger might be a nice added measure. Probably needs to be hinged so you can mount from the front.

John has the in procress pics of mine above - here is the whole story.
The frame is made out of 1x1 angle with two pieces of flat bar welded to the bottom with holes drilled and tapped to attach the frame to the seat supports. I used a WD support to match my original seat support. I added a piece of metal to the lower shock mount to keep from drilling a hole where my serial number is, so the shock mount is attached to the brake centering bolt. A WD45 support would be better, since they bolt at the brake covers only. The back rest is made out of 1/2" conduit. I had the cushions made at a local auto upholsery shop. I think I was inspried by Rick's seat with the two D17 cushions on it, but I wanted one solid black cushion more like a C.
Since you can't get on from the back with a bench seat in the way, I built this step. It makes it easy for me and my kids to climb on. It is made from 1x1 tubing and 1x1 angle iron.

Don, I can't take credit for building mine since I bought it from a fella up in MN. Mine is mostly bolted together instead of welded, but it is attached just like Adam's using an extra WD seat bracket assembly. I don't have near as nice of a front step as Adam's to get on from the front.

Being a thread from 2011 i would say most likely because whatever site they had hosting their pics either they no longer have a account or their link address has changed.

The bracket from the right side will bolt on hype left side. I picked up an extra seat assembly a few years ago to do this on my wd45 but never did. I have a cab and couldn't figure out a reasonable way to be able to flip the seat so I could get in. I took the extra seat bracket off and hung it in the shed. Maybe some day I'll finish it.

The pictures are GONE. They have been moved, erased, acct. closed, for whatever reason, they are no longer shown because they aren't there. You can't find them either. A lot of it is because certain accts. can only have so many pictures in it and then guys delete the old ones and upload new ones. The old (now deleted) pic is just not there.

Here are the pics of the bench seat I built back in 2009. I think the links died of old age, but the pictures are still in my folder on this site.

It would be much easier with wd-45 seat brackets, instead of trying to stay original to the wd and using original style brackets.
