Here's one from 1982, I'd just finished repainting it for my Dad's fathers day present. And then he gave it to me the day before fathers day because I put so much work and money into it. When I told him why he just laughed & said I still ought to have it.
And heres one from Christmas 1996
The one in the red stocking cap is my now 19 year old daughter and our friends kids.
The two boys are 18 and now take tractors to the shows.
We used to decorate the WD45 or the WC for Christmas every year.
The old WD45 has a special place in our family.

Loader needs painted and put on. Backhoe just needs a bracket made since its from a skid loader.

Here is a picture of my dad in 1954 when he bought the WD45 new. On either side are 2 of his brothers, one on a Massey 44 I think and the other on an H. I have the tractor today, still in the original state except I put all new tires and rear rims which cost me more than Dad paid for the tractor and he also got a plow, cultivator, planter and a disc.

mlpankey, I am not sure how the sled transfer works, but i think as it is pulled down the track, the truck tire to track pressure is lessened somehow, meaning the front tires of the truck make less contact with the ground, and there is also a weight box the moves up too, and when combined this would put more pressure on the skid under the truck. The sled seems to work quite well, and pulls pretty decent, easier than some of the typical style of sleds around here.

@ JW : That IH in the pic, looks like a 300 to me, you can almost make out the silver 300 emblem on the side of the hood, and I don't believe either the M or H had a piece of sheet metal covering the steering column over the hood like this tractor does.

This is of a 45 gas I owned years ago. The new owner had sent me this pic soon after I sold it to him. He said he was kicking butt at the pulls where ever he went. I had purchased it from Wengers of Myerstown and suspect it must of had a recent motor re- build; I once took it up the steepest road by our farm pulling a all metal self unloading wagon in high gear, instead of that power crater motor dying down, it just kept getting louder and meaner until it made it to the top!

My '57 WD45. Grandpa bought for $1000 in the spring of 81 from Harold Cook who used to farm 150 acres with it and a Ford 640 Diesel. In the 70's it was overhauled with a D17 kit. When Grandpa bought it, it came with a #3 sickle mower and the heat houser. Grandpa put a 17 loader on it with a 7ft blade and used it for hauling and splitting wood, and plowing snow, and many years of brush hogging. The blade had runner shoes and it was really nice for cleaning up brush when we cut wood. We sold the loader in 2010 at a consignment sale, and I got the tractor when grandpa passed on in October.
picture below is from the mid '80s with the loader and the original "Heat Houser". The second is at it's new home (my house) 10 miles away taken December 13 2010 with the heat houser I made for it.
