I'm looking for the hydraulic schematic for the D17 series 4. I'm having a little trouble with the hydraulics and I don't think it is the pump, I'm thinking it might be a stuck relief valve or something along those lines. Also if anyone has it I'm looking for an exploded view of the control valve itself.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

It has very limited pressure and it can't lift implements but you can tell that its trying to.

Make sure your traction booster lever isn't stuck. A couple of us have had that problem. 5 minutes with some PB Blaster and a couple of 7/16" wrench solved the problem. If your traction boost is stuck to the light side it would do that.

John, that fix is for hydraulics that will not lower.

If you are having problems lifting, start with the obvious:  check the fluid level.  Is your low oil pressure light working?  That can give you some insight to your problem as well.

Ya gotta look in the 170 book for the schematic for a series IV hyd system, they never updated the D17 book with series IV hydralics.  It sounds to me like the main relief valve is defective, it will try to lift but wont you may hear a gush or not.  You can swap the main relief with the traction booster relief to test, the traction booster relief is set lower than the main relief.   I dont have a scanner so I cant put it on for ya.  HTH
