Anyone know, or know where I can find out how many D-17 diesels where made, I have a line on a second one, and it has a '59 serial number, but I don't know if there where 25000, 2500, or 250 total made?
Thanks,
Anthony

Just checked Swinford's book, I have a early 58 D17 diesel with dual front wheels, and there were only 365 made with dual front wheels in 1958.

Orange Blood, for some reason, the years of '64, '65, '66, '67 specifics are not available. He gives the total number of tractors built, but does not break it down as gas versus diesel.

Kind of makes them a little bit less than common. My D17 is also a 58 NF. My sn is 5865, what's yours? I'd have to look in Norm's book again, but I believe that makes mine an early 58 model. What would be really interesting is if it's possible to find out the order of the diesel serial numbers.
I remember looking at Burt Byer's early D17D at Amana and seems like his was less than 100 numbers newer than mine.

So has anybody done the math to see how many diesel vs gas tractors? Like say 1 in every 10 were diesel?
