We have some issues with our D-14. Have to tear it apart again to REPLACE already replaces front and back seals on the crank..It leask terribly for some reason. Also...We overhauled the engine...the tractor starts cold just fine...but after it runs and you turn it off and attempt to restart it......It won't turn over fast enough to start. Very Very Very sluggish.( it's 6 volt ) What could be causing this? Is the starter tired?

Got the proper size battery cables? For 6V, you need a minimum of 02 gauge with 00 gauge being best. If you have typical automotive replacement cables they are in the 4 to 6 gauge range. They work fine with 12V, but with 6V, you have half the voltage so you need twice the amps to do the same work. Twice the amps need thicker cables.

when you installed the seals did you use speedi sleeves? Sometimes the sealing surface gets a groove worn into it and the seal doesn't seal. You also have to use them on the older engines that had a spiral cut in the shaft. Bob

I would double check the timing, I believe the timing is not correct when it starts like that
