| I have a 48 B in all most show room condition, and it does not have this cover. I could ask the guy who restored this tractor to see if it ever had one. |

If you mean the crescent shaped void between the engine and torque tube as in this picture, the answer is no, there was never a cover for this opening. Other tractors, like the Farmall C, for example, did have a cover here.
