Yesterday I drove west and checked out a real D 14. It was 2 below zero and on the top of a mountain. When I finally thawed out back in my Camry I realized the D14 from 2 days ago must be a D15. The serial number on the previous tractor I had the last 5 numbers but couldnt read the first few which must read D15; anyways thats my guess. The D 14 from yesterday is a 57 with good brakes, good hi-low, good tranny, good everything ...almost. Maybe I will get both of them, I'd like em for raking and tedding and not unhooking them all season lol. My disc just can't take another season on the WD even though I love them I can't stand up on them while operating.

I wonder if anyone has handy the ground speed in 3rd hi for a D19, D15II and D14. I noticed yesterday 3rd hi felt kind of slow. For raking and tedding I have used the 19 at half throttle in 3rd hi and the gs was just right; but am betting the 14 and 15 are much slower...

Capt,

3rd high (5th) on the D15II is pretty quick and I find all of the gearing in general on D19 to be a tad slow, especially 4 "high and low".

I can dig up some data if you want to pm me; I also have a WF D19TD SC unit close enough to you that it could be driven home if you wanted to bundle up for the drive.

Very straight tractor that had the head upgrade performed by Urgos Farm Equipment in Frankfurt and I purchased it from the original owner that bought our dairy in 1980.

She was regulated to raking and stalk shredding with a large A-C shredder that is likely still in the pole barn as I did not take it when they offered me a package deal on both.

My dad mows 10 acres with an old New Idea sickle bar trailer mower with this 19 and it is stored out of the weather in a pole barn; it keeps my dad young and the tractor stays charged up and lubed for the last five years since I purchased same. Sheet metal is 99% and she still purrs when that turbo comes alive after warm-up.

I like your thinking -- thats what I keep telling my wife why we need to keep adding tractors. Each has a specific job and a specific piece of equipment so there is no time or energy lost by hitching and unhitching. Also safer that way (she is "Safety Clown"). Some how, I have only had limited success with that approach, but I do like your thinking. Keep adding to the herd. --- LOL.

Hey guys thanks to you all. I am still wondering if the D 14 is about the same speed as the D15 II. Anyone have those numbers?
