I have a wd that keeps shorting out or something.  Every couple weeks the battery is dead and needs to be recharged.  Tested the battery and it is good but can't figure out why this keeps happening.  All the switches are off when I park it but somehow the power gets drained.  Any thoughts of what it could be?   I do have problems with mice nesting in different places on the tractor.  Wondering if maybe they chewed some wires and power is getting drained off somewhere.  If I were to rewire how should I get started?  Also, been meaning to get the lights working.  I had the tractor converted from a 6v to a 12v about a year or so ago.  Do I need different lights?  What else?

Thanks

Hello Mr Moyer     First I would start with a test light cheap disconnect a batt cable and place the test light in series   IE between cable and battery, there shouldn't be amny light, if so start disconnecting wiring until the light goes out.   Is this a generator or alternator???

If you have a alt. bad diode will kill a battery at times

If you converted it to a 12v alt, and don't have a switch, or diode in the exciter circuit that is what is draining your battery
