I just bought a pair of wheel weights for my WD45 yesterday and I don't know how they attach.  They didn't come with any bolts or anything.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks, Ted

I have grade 5 on mine only because they were the only grade offered in the length i needed. Grade 2 will work just fine.

What holds them in place while you try to mount the weight?

I'll have to try that!  LOL  Good one.  I was just wondering if you could put a nut on the outside (between the wheel and the weight) to hold them in place?  Thanks, I'm getting an education again.

Ted, you drill a small hole in the shank where it comes thru the wheel center, put a cotter key in the hole to keep them from sliding back thru, then you can mount them by yourslelf.  I set a 2X4 on the rail, then lift the weight on top the the 2 X 4, then use the 2 X 4 as a lever to lift and position the weight onto the bolts.   HTH

I got 3/4 bolts with threads on both ends from McMaster Carr and put a nut on each side of the wheel on one end, and a nut on the outside of the weight to bolt it on. Leave the nuts on the wheel end a bit loose until weight is on or the bolts will angle away from each other and be too wide for holes in weight. You need at least grade 5 if not grade 8.

I had mine hanging from cut off gate hinges with nut on both sides  (there not more than grade 2) and I would hang up to 4 on each side, theres enough flat surface to keep them straight. I did bolt each weight on separatly, just for pulling. I have 2 sets bolted on with one bolt ( i think 5.5") but thats only because i leave them there and add suit-case weights  when I need them.  I would pull a disc with three sets hanging like that, I never had a bit of trouble. I changed to a quicker way for pulling just for speed between classes. If you want any more info PM me.
