Hey all! Just a quick update from fall until now. Busy, busy fall! Have not got as far as I would have liked to on this project, but that just leaves more to do for winter. should keep the winter blues away, time spent in the shop is always enjoyable!
This is my $500 WD that I purchased in september. I have put about that much back into it with parts, but I am not complaining at all! I really like these orange projects!
I tore into one fender tonight, I have to remove the fender, and put "fender extensions" on to re-mount the fenders, to allow for the 70" inside tread width, for the picker. I also was hoping to get that side mounted fan (that you can see in the picture) mounted tonight, but I must adjust the rear wheels first, cause there is no stinkin way to fit it between the brake pedal and the tire right now. I do know one thing, there is a heck of alot to mounting this picker than previously thought! But my dad and I will keep pluggin away at it, we will get it in time.

Don    All the rear gear on the WD (lift arms, rear hitch, platform) had to be stripped off in order for the gathering unit on the picker to fit on the tractor.
This is the picker that is getting mounted on this tractor, it has mostly original paint.

Hope you plan on ggrowing a lot of corn for all that work!LOL! Looks like a fun project, especially since you are getting to work with your dad. I plan on doing a mechanical rehab on my dad's C (originally his dad's) after Christmas(OK, at least starting on it.LOL!) It may run into a little longer job than this winter, but if I get to spend time with dad, it doesn't matter to me. Time is hard to come by sometimes, and quality time with people you love is a commodity. Enjoy. ------------- I didn't do it! It was a short, fat, tall, skinny guy that looked like me! |

Don, Wheres tha corn harvestor33 decal at? On the elevator? Our picker still has some paint on it but I don't ever recall seeing the 33 sticker on ours.
That picker looks like new compared to ours.
Dad use to mount the fenders on the tractor sometimes and then again sometimes not, the last time they were left off and been that way ever since.

Looks great! All that work to mount the picker but in the A-C lit it was an easy 1-2-3 job! Your not quite finished with 1! lol JC the 33 decal is on the elevator, could yours be a regular corn harvester that was the predecessor to the 33? Jim |

| Don, Nice looking picker. I have put those on many times am iam almost sure you don't take platform and lift arms off. I just don't remember that. there are two brackets that go under rear axle that hold under carriage on. I am sure it will work to take them off but don't think is required. I have a 33 picker to mount on wd when i get some time. It is actually not a hard job and doesn't take long if you have done it before. Dallas |

| I remember it was a day and a half job. first had to wrestle the picker out of the corner of the mahine shed. My Dad and Uncle harvestd together so the two of them worked on it. Once you get the tractor ready, the picker slides on, I block it up and use a come along to winch it on. Once you do it a few times youll figure out the shortcuts. Good luck!! |
