Hi,

I am putting this engine back together after it has sat 10 yrs. Could someone please send me pictures of where the oil lines go from the turbo into the block on this 262 engine?

I am using a 230 block as a new starting point and I want to make sure the block I have has the correct ports.

There are a couple pipe plugs in the center of the right side of the block. One goes into the water jacket, the other goes to the crankcase. If I remember correctly, the crankcase plug is the next size bigger than the water. The supply line is probably going to have to come off one of the main bearing galleries on the lower left side.

I will take a picture of mine. Some one can correct if im wrong but i don't belive that a 230 block will work. All the 262 diesels in the D19 had the water paump mounted on the block were the 230 was on the head. The 262 block is built alot heavier between the cylinders. Another difference is the sleeve seal ring grooves are cut in the lower deck on the 262 and in a 230 they are cut in the sleeve. I would think it would be better and easier to uses a later 262 block. Recent discussion here claimed all 230-262 blocks w/water pump in block had o-rings in block.That would be 230 gasser like my A2 gleaner had.Don't have it anymore so I can't say if it had plugs in block for return but wouldn't be suprised if it did.The drain would be easy enough to add by just drilling a hole and tapping it.Do a little measuring and get in below the water jacket.
