| Can new tires work for pulling? I know you almost always use old hard tires with little tread so the lugs dont fold back and they dont rut up the track as bad. I am having a hard time finding used tires around here. I am thinking of some new firestion 23 degrees,14.9-28. I know these are good tires but will they work or not? I hate to spend $800 on tires if they wont hook. I know one guy who pulls an oliver, he tried a new set of COOP tires and couldnt get more that 75 ft down the track. Should I hold out for used tires? |

new tires will work on a loose track pretty good not so good on a hard dry track. if you don't mind taking a grinder or planer to them you can take some off the top and make them a little stiffer. you could probably find some good used combine tires at the salvage yards for about half of new price. ------------- AS LONG AS THERE ARE SHADE TREES I CAN BE CALLED A MECHANIC |

I have a couple of 13.6x28's that are worn down pretty good. Mismatched, but not sure it would help or not? $80 for the set if anyone is interested.
