Hi Guys,

The upper half of this engine has been apart awhile (8 yrs) and the injection lines and injectors were not capped.
  • Who is the best one to contact to rebuild the injection pump, clean and check the nozzles?
  • What is the best way to flush out the lines?
  • What about the energy cells?  What do these do and how can I check them for correct performance?  Is there someone out there that rebuilds these?

Thanks in advance for the help,

Terry

You can flush the lines with brake cleaner and compressed air. My pump has a decal from a shop in Ft Dodge Ia. Dean Byerly (former A-C dealer mechanic) tells me that any pump done at Ft Dodge would be right. There is also Iowa Diesel Injection in New Hartford Ia that has been around for ages.
Are your energy cells still in the head? If they are, I wouldn't mess with them. The caps that are held on by the clamps need to lapped in place much like a valve. I'm pretty sure that the only concern for the cells is the hole being round, not eroded or plugged with carbon. I think Tom in MN has some good pics of what a good cell looks like.

Mine is a WD45 Diesel which is the 230, yours being a 262 is probably the D17.  The injection pump is different on these but the cells are the same.  Here is a link to my page with the air cells etc.   http://home.comcast.net/%7Eold_allis/ac-wd45d-head.html - http://home.comcast.net/~old_allis/ac-wd45d-head.html
You could give David Ferguson in Austin, MN a call he knows these pumps and injectors better than anyone I know.  Tom
