Working on a 1957 WD-45 for a customer, and it is equipped with factory power steering. I have worked on numerous allis' but have yet to tear into one of these power steering systems. Anyway, when driving the tractor, the power steering works to the left, almost rips your hands off because it turns so fast. When you try to go back to the right it turns surprisingly hard, and the P.S. is definately not working when turning to the right. Just curious if any of you may know where to start looking, I have not torn into it yet, I just finished the engine work on it, so it is now time to look into the P.S. problem. Well, if that doesnt do it you can about bet one of the O rings is torn or blown. Throwing all the power to the left, starving the right. ------------- sometimes I walk out to my shop and look around and think "Who's the idiot that owns this place?" |

Well I got the power steering working, and it works better than I ever expected. The valve spool was stuck in its valve body and I just worked it back and forth to loosen it up and now it works great.
