Will put similar post on ag site as curious to what I may have found.

Running unit found in Texas as seen being operated previously.

Now out by the road with a for sale sign and I noticed it recently while returning from Houston on business; need to know what it may be as I am not a crawler man by any means.

Close to my place and I am more curious than anything as I have not seen an A-C crawler of this vintage being equipped with what appears to be a small Detroit engine.

Unit is small, M size and wondering where the s/n would be located as I will go check it out and take my camera.

Any input is appreciated as A-C reportedly built 10 LD units, some of which were reportedly tested in Texas and PA during 1938-39.

HD 5 was first full run small machine with detroit, but on here there were pictures of a HD4 with a detroit. This was a war machine or early style 4 , not later industrial 4

hd5 had a 2 cylinder detroit in it. how many cylinders did it have? the hd5 serial numbers are on the rear housing on the upper right side just inside the track on the back. look just below the fuel tank on the rt. side. also, it should have a serial number plate on the dashboard down low just above where your right foot sits on the brake pedal. hope this helps

early crawler with 2cyl was HD3 was only a few made if you go back to page 5 on here there is a picture of one hope this helps

I have the 1942 hd3 and the serial # is on the back to the right and just above the PTO shaft. Mine says HD-3 8. Good luck and let us know. Mine is still in limbo as it is getting cold and wet here in Idaho. Just an update for those wondering.
