Sitting here at 4am watching the weather. Been up since 6 this morning selling chickens so this is less than the most opportune time, but I digress. It's been approximately 70 and above for the last several days. Absolutely beautiful spring weather. Well, now there's a storm line moving in from Alabama with a cold front. Storms are expected to be thunderstorms with the possibility of tornados. This is pretty common for us in the spring. The crazy part is by noon it's possible with this cold front, the rain could turn into wintery mix . It's currently 66 degrees. By noon they expect mid 30's

Here in the ‘hill country’ of west Texas, Sunday early morning was pleasant, winds changed to the North and temps dropped all day, currently 34 deg at my house. Was in the 70’s and 80’s most of last week. Today forecast is high of 49, later this week forecast is mid 90’s.

Not a good morning to be loading chickens but no tornadoes which is a plus. Maybe you will get to see some snow flurries this afternoon. We have had a couple of thunderstorms pass through but nothing severe. We are getting into prime tornado season now.

Boy ain't that the truth. Danielle is pretty scared of storms. She spends March through May on pins and needles

Well... The weatherman was right! About noon it started snowing and did for 3 or 4 hours. Pretty heavy and big flakes at times. If the ground had been cold we'd have a pretty fair dusting

Saturday night and Sunday morning SNOW - in fact in the threat of heavy snow they cancelled church for Sunday , late Friday afternoon as expected heavy snow predicted . So last night I plowed the church lot , had son help with skid loader and 8' snow bucket on A300 Bobcat and I was using 8 1/2 ' Boss Plow on the 2010 GMC - 5 hours of work total between 2 machines and about 10" of snow removed . Wet stick bottom layer and 4" of slight snow on top . Lousy traction and most could only push 1/3 of blade angled with truck until got some moved pushing straight blade and not rolling a windrow of snow . Now normal plow time on lot is 2 hours , last snow it was 4 hours and 6" of snow, with truck so each plowing of late is way over normal amounts . Now cold out and another day of that and then suppose to get back to 40F or so , Last week was in 50F and no snow on ground at all - and now every thing covered over again Then as I was finishing up after dark ended up finding a tree I backed into so first dent in the truck and rear bumper folded in on corner like it was paper .... I am beginning to hate winter .

Was just thinking as I have been plowing that lot now for 53 years - might be time to let someone else do it - but it gives me a reason to have 4x4 truck and plow along with keeping me busy in the winter . Yet each year I keep saying to give it up

That's just 50% less Dave. What did you really expect of them?
