What makes the tachometer on a D-12 III different than the earlier models?  All venders distinguish a serial break up to #9001. I know that the series III have a 226 engine.  Is the tachometer mounted and contected differently on these engines?  Thanks

I would say that the Series III had Hi-Lo option and the tach had to reflect that and the Series II did not.
