A Great Big Possum

I have seen some big Possums in my time; this one, although he don't look so impressive in the pictures, ranks among the five biggest I have ever seen; he was a hoss - or is he a she ?

Something drastic had happened to his tail; at least half of it was gone.

It would be quite difficult for him to wrap what was left of his short stub tail around a tree limb and hang there like you see in the cartoons.

This cat was within 15-feet of the Big Possum and both were well aware of each other's presence; I could not, however, manage to get both in the same picture.

Thanks; I hadn't ever heard that one.

What I was expecting was the old classic "Monkey in a 'simmon tree and a possum on the ground"

My father, who could flat-pick a flat-top with the best of them, when he and his guitar-picking buddies would get well oiled up on 50/50 Maker's Mark and pre-1976 Coca-Cola in the 6-1/2-ounce bottles, they would set in on the Monkey/Possum song; I had it welded in my brain before I was 4-yrs-old.
