your engine and tractor SN are within 20 digits of each other.. Consider that the first 97 tractors in 1937 had WAK engines... and a few of the "NEW" 116 AC engines would go for SPARES and GEN SETS, etc..... i think you have a good match of ORGINAL parts.

and the engine SN ends with a G which should make it a GAS engine, not Kero, etc... So you have the higher compression engine of that era (  still very low compression)... the only question is has the motor ever been rebuilt and new 125 inch pistons installed... or is it ORIGINAL ? ..... right now, it dont make much difference... get it running !  Clap

Good Day @ farm she runs, need new sediment bowl, the one leaked antifreeze came out when we open a lower knob.never check to see if oil in John Deere oil gauge works or if oil went to engine
Change oil.
My wrench Man said she sounded Good.
Put gas tank back on we actually ran out of fuel.
