My 160 has very weak power steering. I think I tracked down the likely cause being belt is quite loose. I didn't think to check it while it was cold and it's a lot looser then I realized.
Thank you  https://www.allischalmers.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=16194" rel="nofollow - AC720Man  for suggesting that.

The service manual shows 4 bolts. Two look like they're tucked in the frame rail. I can see why people are saying it's a pain to adjust.

Any tips or tricks for tightening?

Will have to look at my 160 tomorrow, kinda forgot how I adjusted mine. I installed a new belt and adjusted. It has to be the exact length belt as there isn’t much adjustment on it. I do remember that. Seams like I used a slight angled pry bar to hold the tension while I tightened the bolts.

I forgot about this post so I apologize. There is one bolt that you loosen that the PS pump slides on. I used a small pry bar between the front crank and the PS pump to get the belt tension correct and then tightened the tension bolt.

I second the length of belt.  I think I tried parts houses, but ended up having to go thru agco to be just right.
