I picked up a box labeled "CA Parts" at an auction that included a governor and distributor. The distributor has 1112609 on the ID tag. Searching that number online comes up with reman/aftermarket parts fitting the 4-cylinder D-series tractors. Any chance I could make it work on my CA that's complete but missing a distributor, or do I need to keep looking?

1111735 is what you would want for your CA. The 609 did show up in some of the "D" series Tractors, also H3 Dozer. I have rebuilt Distributors if interested. Check out our website. I'll take that 609 for a core and I can fix ya up with a 735. Your call. HTH

Thanks Steve. I dug around on some of my project/non-running machines and found: CA with 1111735 CA with 1111745
Then both of my Cs have 1111411 on them.
Those other two CAs are not in any danger of running anytime soon (very stuck engines) so I'll rob that 1111735 off the one and go through it. If it needs more work than I can handle I'll reach out.
Is all of this information about which Delco numbers go to what tractor/engine/etc. in some old Delco applications catalog I could find somewhere? It would be handy to see what the actual differences are (advance etc.) between the different numbers AC used.

Thanks - yes, almost exactly. I would love to find a document like that, but for the Delco Remy distributors used in Allis equipment. I am sure that particular example is a Delco Remy document for some other auto/equipment manufacturer which is why the AC ones are missing.

I have some real old SMP catalogs that I use for reference. Most of the information that I've compiled has just been over 50 years of rebuilding these things. I have some information compiled on GM cars n' trucks as well from all of the Distributors I've rebuilt, recurved, etc. I've been a Delco dealer since 1968. Unfortunately, some of my old Delco books got destroyed when the roof leaked onto the catalog rack when I had the Auto Repair shop back in the 70's. If only that leak was another 2 foot over, the rack wouldn't have gotten wet! Steve@B&B
