Hey all,

I need a muffler for one of the 7060s.

I see shoup is running a sale right now, was curious if anyone has used one of theirs with success, or if its the same muffler as all states sells for 130bucks.

Thanks!

Back in the day ( 426 /7000 series) I would remove the muffler on a brand new tractor for modification while I was prepping it for delivery. I had an 1 3/8" pipe about 3 to 4 foot long that I would slide inside the muffler from each end. I would hammer the muffler up and down on the pipe like driving in fence posts. After enough hammering the spot welds on the baffles (2) inside would break loose and fall out each end, making a straight thru hole for the hot exhaust gases. It didn't really change the sound much at all but, (if I remember right) lowered my exhaust temps nearly 100 degrees F under full load. That didn't answer your question did it ????
