Do we or could we have a documents area where we can share manuals, literature, etc.  I have a few I would not mind contributing.  I know much of this stuff is in the public domain and is not copyrighted.

Often, we get equipment and it would be handy to have the original documents to refer to, or it is fun to look at old sales brochures.

E-bay has tons of that stuff.  That's where I get all of my manuals.

On another forum I follow they tried a shared document page, but were shut down due to copywright/IP reasons. Just too hard for a small-scale site to ensure posters are only uploading stuff that's in the public domain, and they can't afford the laibility if some corporate conglomerate gets snarky about it.

I'm a big fan of this site (link below) for that kind of stuff. And I've uploaded several manuals/documents to that site myself. Some of the stuff has 'limited preview' available, because of copyright concerns and you need to log in to view. But for a lot of it you can access, read, and download the whole kit/caboodle without even creating an account. Just did a quick search and there are lots of promotional films/ads, manuals for the WD45, 6080, B,C, a few gleaner models, the 303 baler, D14/15/17, 390 & 904 moco's, and several other Allis goodies. One interesting thing they have there is Fuller's registry of many pieces of Allis equipment. I was able to find the original buyer and history of a neighbour's D15 through it.

I didn't realize it would be that difficult.  I know many of things sold and reprinted on eBay are not copyrighted and that is how they get away with it.

Oh well it was an idea.
